(NOTE: Since this post was first written, I have since abandoned Super for the far superior Movavi Video Converter which will do everything Super does, but is much easier to use and obviously much easier to download. It even rips DVDs which Super cannot do. It’s not free like Super, but it’s well worth the cheap $30. Trust me on this one!)
Ever get stuck in an endless loop, trying to download video converter, Super? Here’s how to break the loop.
I’ve never once been able to download it using Firefox, so if I were you I wouldn’t even bother trying.
Basically, you need to add the download site to your trusted sites in IE. But wait! I said the download site. Although it may appear that you are downloading directly from the www.erightsoft.com domain, you will actually be downloading from gpl.download.free.fr/Super.html so go ahead and point your browser there now.
Once you are on the right domain, open up your internet options and click the ‘security’ tab. Then hit the ‘trusted sites’ icon and add the current domain (be sure to un-check the option that requires it to be an https site). Now that gpl.download.free.fr has been added to your trusted sites list, change your trusted sites level to ‘Low.’
Now all you need to do is scroll to the bottom of the page and click ‘Start Downloading SUPER’ which will take you to http://gpl.download.free.fr/Superdc.html where you will see a link that says ‘download and use’ near the top of the screen. Click that and it will take you to http://gpl.download.free.fr/S6Kg1.html where you will see the download links at the bottom of the screen. Why didn’t I have you go there to begin with instead of clicking all these links? Well, the good people of erightsoft (or whoever they are) don’t want you to download Super from anywhere but on their site, so they check the referrer of how you got to the download page and if you don’t get there in the order I described above, you will be redirected to the begining and have to start all over.
Happy video converting!

Don’t use SUPER (c), it’s loaded with spyware and trojans,
Don’t pay for video converters either!
Check out Mediacoder on souceforge, open source and safe.
Does everything!
Thanks for that and thanks to Some Joe for the tip on MediaCoder. Works a treat!
just download and use google chrome for such problems.
worked first time
Ok, I’ve downloaded int and even managed to install it. I got a very convulted UI, a lot of options, but the very option to start encoding is buried on the bottom of the screen. And even better, if you have a low resolution display (or the wrong skin) it doesn’t appear at all! Very nice, Mr. Usability Demon!
THANX SOOOOOOOOO MUCH. I guess the erightsoft guys are just doing their jobs but man!
Thank you so much, I was trying to work it all out, but then thought it didn’t exist because I couldn’t download it. I found your instructions helped but some reason kept stuffing it up, the eright website actually has instructions with pictures on how to download it.
No-one listen to what any says about viruses (except for Abyss)
The install package from the super site contains 0 viruses.
You might get a virus from other sites, but thats what you pay for when you try to get around eRightSoft’s stupid, idiotic, and crappy download page.
Program is great, site is crude.
Try convertxtodvd 3 by vso. Life is too short. Also, includes a pretty fair burner.
Somehow, I managed to accidentally(?) download it once with Firefox, but had to reinstall. I could NOT get it to work to save my life. Your instructions are great. -It’s a screwy site, and an odd little program, but amazingly capable. It reminds me of working in DOS, lol.
Thanks
Actually, I have been able to encode DVDs to other formats. You open up the DVD in windows explorer, and drag and drop the video files (forgot what the extension on them is) to Super, and then encode. Works with unencrypted DVDs only though.
Hello to all !
I am a big fan of SUPEr and been using it for 2 years, first on XP and lately on Vista. Never had any issue. I encode MKVs and WMVs to my iPod.
I have copied the following text message from another forum:
Quote:
—————————————————————————-
FFmpeg official website has listed SUPER as part of the FFmpeg-
Based Projects: http://ffmpeg.mplayerhq.hu/projects.html
MEncoder official website has listed SUPER as related projects under Windows: http://www.mplayerhq.hu/design7/projects.html
Microsoft official website identifies SUPER as Vista compatible:

Please, stop spreading the bad-mouth on something you totally ignore !

lmfao I love how so many people posted at 3:55 am on January 27th, 2007. Clearly he was bumping his own article somehow, like a douche bag. Go eat a dick, dipshit.

Thanks man. The program finally installed using ie, firefox had me download some crap setup file that said “Invalid Database” whenever I try to run it.
Yep, just downloaded it after getting f@$#ked around on their crap site – it installed OK but as soon as I activated it, the ol’ MALWARE!!!! alarm went off, which shut down the program.
What a waste of time…..
They’re ARSEHOLES!!!!
downloaded with no sweat using IE
installed on Vista Family Premium 64bit (yes 64bit)
works like magic, THE BEST ever.
thanks, it was quite helpful.
though i downloaded in one go using firefox 3.5..
problem might be with previous version it seems..
This program is SUSPICIOUS AND SHADY AS HELL!! NO Legitimate program would behave like this one does. I noticed extremely suspicious spyware-like files in my system32 folder: Smab0.dll, VistaUltm.dll, marked Hidden, and upon analyzing the EXEs, I determined they are encrypted and packed just like a virus! No legitimate program would use these tactics. There is no Version info like a normal program, to indicate the source and vendor of these files. The only way I correlated them with Super was the file Creation date along with lots of internet reports confirming it.
Right clicking on these files CRASHED my explorer.exe!! Unbelievable but obviously more proof of how non-standard these binaries are.
Virtually every binary related to Super is packed, encrypted, and compressed. If the program is based 99% off GPL open source, why the need for such virus-like secrecy?
If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck….. ITS NOT LEGITIMATE!
I don’t allow software on my system that disguises itself and tries to hide from me. I’m removing Super today and washing my hands clean of this TRASH.
I don`t believe it IS malware. But the download is really tricky. I got my SUPER from http://www.chip.de They check the software for malware.
Cheers!
I use Super, have always used it and always will, I hate IE and wish it did not exist. I have no problem getting the software from the eRight site with Firefox. I have Xilisoft Video converter Ultimate and don’t us it very much because Super works better. I love the auto stretch function fofr5 all the letter box videos I get stuck with. I love the Crop feature for when I find a letter box video that I must have originally done in Xilisoft. There’s only one video format I have to use River Past for and that’s Type 1 DVAVI compatible for Premiere. I use Norton Ghost 15 and keep a clean restore of all my systems, so I don’t care about spyware or virus infections. Even if you don’t have an image of your clean OS and software computers love to be erased and re-loaded. So erase your today if you are having any problems.
Their site is BULLSHIT
